A Victorian opal, enamel and diamond bracelet, to the centre an oval shaped dome set with a diamond and twenty-four cabochon opals, all surrounded by a blue-enamelled star, surrounded by eighteen round cabochon-cut opals, to entwined wirework frame, all a flexible waved belt-like bracelet, to a wire-work crown-shaped terminal, circa 1870, measuring approximately 7.8 x 6cm, gross weight 75.82 grams .
A splendid Victorian bracelet. This piece epitomizes High Victorian style, featuring an ornate design. The centrepiece of this bracelet is an oval plaque set with a lively central diamond and an array of luminous cabochon-cut opals. The opals are surrounded by a blue enamel star which is bordered by further opals. Surrounding the central plaque is a twisted rope of yellow gold and wirework, set between a flexible bracelet made from wide yellow gold woven links. An exquisitely crafted and very handsome piece.
