An Art Nouveau Opal And Diamond Pendant
An Art Nouveau opal and diamond pendant, the central oval-shaped cabochon-cut opal weighing approximately 5 carats, set within a cluster of old-cut diamonds in an openwork scrolling diamond-set foliate surround, suspending a smaller opal drop, all suspended by a diamond-set loop, approximate total diamond weight 3.75 carats, all set in silver to yellow gold, circa 1900, measuring approximately 7.2×3.8cm, gross weight 14.10 grams.
An exquisite early twentieth century pendant. It features a central opal that radiates wonderful shades of pastel blue and pink. The opal is surrounded by a border of diamonds and a scrolling, openwork frame set with an array of further scintillating diamonds. Suspended from the bottom of the pendant is a further opal. This sparkling and colourful piece would look superb hung from a fine chain and worn with an evening dress.
