An Edwardian Sapphire Diamond And Pearl Pendant
An Edwardian sapphire diamond and pearl pendant, the oval-cut faceted sapphire weighing approximately 6.60 carats, accompanied by GCS Report 77116-67 stating to be of Sri-Lankan origin, with no indication of heat treatment, surrounded by twenty-seven old brilliant-cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.50 carats, to further twenty four seed-pearls, all set in platinum to a yellow gold back, suspended by a diamond-set loop, circa 1905, gross weight 4.0 grams.
A delicate and romantic sapphire pendant necklace. The pendant features an impressive oval-cut Sri-Lankan sapphire weighing over six and a half carats that has a gorgeous hue. Surrounding the sapphire is a frame of glittering diamonds, and around the diamonds is a further frame of creamy white natural pearls. The pendant loop is set with further diamonds. This classically Edwardian piece is alluring and very pretty and would be a lovely “something blue” worn with a bridal ensemble.
