An Early Victorian Pearl And Ruby Cluster Ring

An early Victorian pearl and ruby cluster ring, the ring set with a cushion-cut ruby, surrounded by six half pearls measuring approximately 3.7mm, flanked by pearl trefoils, all set to a gold reeded collets, on a gold mount with split foliate shoulders and glass compartment on reverse containing hair, circa 1840, head size 1.1×1.8cm, finger size J, gross weight 3.3 grams. This ring is in very good condition. Umarked, tested as 18ct gold.

A charming early Victorian ring that captures the romance of the period beautifully. This piece features a central ruby surrounded by luminous half pearls set in yellow gold. The back of the ring has a little locket with a lock of hair in it, signifying that this piece was probably given to a loved one. A sentimental and lovely ring.
