An Edwardian Pair Of Pearl And Diamond Earrings

An Edwardian pair of pearl and diamond earrings, each earring consisting of a pearl, accompanied by GCS report stating to be natural saltwater, measuring approximately 4.5mm, surrounded by ten transition-cut diamonds, suspended by a chain set with two larger transition-cut diamonds, total diamond weight approximately 1.40 carats, all fine millegrain-set in platinum, fitted with 9ct gold screw fittings, circa 1915, measuring approximately 2.9 x 1cm, gross weight 3.2 grams. Unmarked tested as Platinum (earrings) and 9ct Gold (screw back fittings). A pair of Edwardian natural pearl and diamond drop earrings in Good condition

A delightful pair of Edwardian pearl and diamond earrings. Typical of the classic ‘white’ theme of the period, these lovely earrings combine luminous precious pearls and diamonds set with millegrain, a technique involving the tooling of minute beads around the diamond’s setting edge. This gives the earrings a delicate, refined quality.
