A Victorian amethyst riviere necklace, the twenty eight graduated oval mixed-cut amethysts each set within a yellow gold collet, measuring approximately 9.1 x 6.5 x 3.8mm, to 17.4 x 12.6 x 8.3mm, to a hidden snap clasp, circa 1860,measuring approximately 45cm, gross weight 23.29 grams.
This enchanting riviere necklace was made in the mid nineteenth century and features twenty-eight deep-hued amethysts. The amethysts graduate in size along the necklace, and each stone is set to a yellow gold collet. The wonderful shade of purple amethyst complements the yellow gold beautifully: the combination is alluring and regal.
