A Burdock Flower Bracelet By Ilgiz F
A Burdock flower bracelet by Ilgiz F, consisted of nine octagonal shape faceted quartz crystal plaques, with openwork enamelled back depicting burdocks, to a diamond-set gallery with double snap clap, all in 18ct gold made by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, measuring approximately 18.5cm long and 3.95cm wide, gross weight 139.2 grams.
This exquisite and remarkable bracelet was made by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, a widely recognized master in the art of jewellery and particularly enamelwork. This bracelet features nine faceted rock crystal plates, each representing a pane of glass in a cabinet of curiosities. Behind each faceted pane is a delicate and detailed enamelwork design of burdock flowers, which is a common plant in the southern Russian region where Ilgiz F. is from, and many of his works of jewellery incorporate the plant and its flowers.. The flowers and the quartz feature fine yellow gold detailing. This piece reflects the three strands of inspiration Ilgiz F. draws from to craft his pieces: art nouveau, art deco, and national heritage. All of the elements come together harmoniously in this bracelet, which is a perfect example of Ilgiz F’s magnificent skill with enamel work. Ilgiz Fazulzyanov has twice been awarded the grand prize at the International Jewellery Design Excellence Awards, and his work is held in the collection of world-renowned museums including the Kremlin Museum in Moscow.
