A magnificent Etruscan revival suite, made in the mid-nineteenth century. During the nineteenth century, archaeological discoveries brought about a renewed cultural interest in ancient cultures, particularly that of the Ancient Etruscan people. This suite is emblematic of Ancient Etruscan revival style, incorporating ram’s head motifs with ancient techniques such as gold wire work and micro granulation. The rams head was a motif frequently seen in Etruscan jewellery, and this suite incorporates it beautifully. This parure is a fabulous example of mid-Victorian revival craftsmanship.
