A ring with elephants by Ilgiz F, the faceted cultured pearl weighing 21.78 carats, set to an openwork surround depicting finely engraved elephants and diamond-set scalloped decorations, on a blue sapphire pave-set background, the diamonds weighing 0.97 carats, the sapphires 3.57 carats, all mounted in 18ct gold, made by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, measuring approximately 3cm in diameter, finger size N, gross weight 31.1 grams.
This magnificent ring was made by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, a widely recognized master in the art of jewellery and particularly enamelwork. This ring features an openwork surround of finely detailed engraved elephant heads. Above the elephant heads is an openwork scalloped diamond layer that surrounds a stunning and impressive glowing faceted cultured pearl. Surrounding the pearl within the diamond frame is a wonderful glowing frame of pave-set sapphires. The elephants are rendered in exquisite detail and reflect Ilgiz F.’s stylistic inspiration from Eastern design styles and cultures. This wonderful piece reflects Ilgiz’s talent and skill in conceptualizing and executing complex and original designs. Ilgiz Fazulzyanov has twice been awarded the grand prize at the International Jewellery Design Excellence Awards, and his work is held in the collection of world-renowned museums including the Kremlin Museum in Moscow.
