A Victorian natural pearl ruby and diamond bug brooch, the body with a baroque pearl, the legs embellished with emeralds and the wings with faceted rubies and old-cut diamonds, the head with old-cut diamonds and cabochon-cut ruby eyes, the diamonds estimated to weigh a total of 1.7 carats, accompanied by GCS Report79217-35 stating the rubies to be Burmese with no indictations of heating and the pearl to be natural of saltwater origin, all mounted in yellow gold with gold brooch fitting, measuring approximately 3.5 x 2.3cm, crca 1870, gross weight 12.6grams.
