A Victorian Diamond And Moonstone Mistletoe Leaf Brooch
A Victorian diamond and moonstone mistletoe leaf brooch, the leaves and stem encrusted with rose-cut diamonds, to the centre two round shaped moonstones, all set in silver to a yellow mount, with gold brooch fitting, circa 1870, unmarked, tested as silver and 18ct gold, measuring approximately 3.5 x 3cm, gross weight 4.1 grams.
A lovely Victorian mistletoe brooch. This brooch takes the form of a glittering branch of mistletoe, with the leaves decorated with sparkling rose-cut diamonds and the berries modelled from moonstones. During the Victorian era, the practice of kissing under the mistletoe became popularised. This brooch is a charming nod to the classic Christmas tradition and would make a perfect addition to a velvet jacket.
