More informationA George III shuttle-shaped diamond brooch, the seventeen Old Mine and two rose-cut diamonds graduating from the centre, surrounded by a frame consisted of fifty Old Mine-cut diamonds, the diamonds estimated to weigh 6 carats, all cut-down set in silver to rose-gold back, with gold pin fitting, circa 1800, unmarked, tested as silver and 14ct gold, with 9ct gold pin fitting, measuring approximately 6.7 x 1.9cm, gross weight 9.6 grams.
A stunning Georgian brooch. This piece features an array of scintillating old-mine cut diamonds, which catch the light beautifully, arranged in a wave shape. The shape of the brooch and the cut of the diamonds are both typical of the Georgian period, making this a wonderful example of late eighteenth and early nineteenth century jewellery design. This gorgeous antique brooch would look beautiful pinned to the shoulder strap of a silk evening gown.
