An Early Victorian Blue Enamel And Pearl Locket
An early Victorian blue enamel pendant with pearl star motif and locket back, the pendant oval, approximately 42x26mm front decorated with blue enamel with central star motif set with pearls graduating outwards, 15 pearls in total, yellow gold back with central locket compartment, circa 1840, measuring approximately 4.2 x 2.6cm, gross weight 11.5 grams. Unmarked tested as 18ct gold. The early Victorian pendant is in Very Good condition.
A wonderfully Victorian locket pendant. This charming locket is set with midnight-blue enamel, in which is set a pearl star. The gentle sheen of the pearls and the warmth of the gold setting beautifully compliment the deep blue of the enamel. To the back of the locket there is a glass compartment, held in which is a lock of hair. This is a romantic and sentimental piece, and an excellent example of early Victorian craftsmanship.
