More informationA Victorian gold locket festoon necklace, the five graduated yellow circular lockets each applied to the centre with a pearl within a dark blue enamel star, each having a circular glazed compartment to the reverse and supporting a pipkin drop, all suspended from a snake link chain necklace with snake link chain festoons in between, circa 1860, measuring approximately 40.5 x 4.5cm, gross weight 25 grams in original fitted case.
An enchanting mid-Victorian necklace. This necklace exemplifies the High Victorian style, characterised here by bold styles use of Bristol blue enamel. Each of the necklace’s five lovely locket has a central royal blue enamel star surrounding a lustrous pearl and a suspended pipkin drop. To the back of each locket is a glass locket compartment, now empty, which originally may have held locks of hair.
