More informationAn Important early Victorian emerald and diamond swag necklace, to the centre a step-cut emerald measuring approximately 8 x 9 x 5.2mm, suspending a detachable pear-shaped emerald measuring approximately 11.5 x 6.2 x 4mm, set in a yellow gold claw setting, each claw set at the apex with a rose diamond point, the four swags each consisting of nine diamonds in cut-down silver collets, the centre three diamonds of each swag forming a trefoil suspended from a step-cut emerald, in cut-down yellow gold settings, attached either side to a diamond-set clover leaf motif leading to a graduating diamond-set knife edge chain with a snap clasp set with three rose-cut diamonds, the diamonds estimated to weigh 4.5 carats in total, the twelve emeralds estimated to weigh 8 carats in total, accompanied by GCS Report stating to be of Colombian origin, all mounted in silver and yellow gold circa 1840 with later back section, length 42cm, gross weight 25.5 grams.
An exquisite emerald and diamond necklace. This early Victorian piece features a swagged design of dazzling diamonds and vivid, verdant emeralds set in yellow gold. The centre of the necklace features a beautiful step-cut emerald from which is suspended a pear-shaped emerald. The pear-shaped emerald is surrounded by a frame of rose cut diamonds The rest of the emeralds suspended from the necklace are step-cut, elegantly faceted. Attaching the central swagged section to the necklace’s yellow gold chain are two diamond-set clovers, adding a charming and naturalistic touch to this stunning piece. This necklace would look spectacular paired with a simple evening gown.
