A classically Victorian necklace. This necklace features a yellow gold snake chain that terminates in two enamelled loops. The enamel is turquoise coloured, providing a wonderful contrast to the yellow gold chain. The loops hold a diamond-set bolt ring, from which is suspended a wonderful heart-shaped locket. The locket front is enamelled with further turquoise colour and features a central star-shaped cluster of dazzling diamonds. The combination of turquoise, yellow gold, and diamonds was immensely popular during the mid-Victorian era, and this gorgeous piece exemplifies the bold style of the time. A wonderful antique piece.
