An Austrian silver-gilt mounted rock crystal vase, on spreading domed foot and with short baluster-shaped body, with two winged demi-sphinx scroll and butterfly handles, the foot, stem and body finely enamelled with bands depicting gods and goddesses, the body engraved with anthemion scrolls and demi grotesque figures, mark of Hermann Ratzersdorfer, Vienna, circa 1870, 7¾ in. (20 cm.) high, gross weight 459 grams.
