A Burmese ruby and diamond cluster ring, the oval faceted ruby weighing 0.65 carats and accompanied by GCS report stating to be of Burmese origin with no indications of heating, claw-set and surrounded by eight old brilliant-cut diamonds estimated to weigh 1.35 carats in total, claw set in a white to yellow gold mount with diamond set shoulders,circa 1950, later hallmarked 18ct gold, London 2016, bearing the Bentley & Skinner sponsormark, head measuring 1.3×1.2cm, finger size M 1/2, gross weight 2.98 grams.
A marvellous ring. This ring draws stylistic inspiration from the rings of the Victorian era and features a bright and vivid central ruby. The ruby is surrounded by a cluster of scintillating old-cut diamonds which flash and catch the light in a lovely way. The yellow gold band beautifully complements the warmth of the ruby and the sparkle of the diamonds, making this ring an ideal antique-inspired engagement ring.
