Description

A pair of sterling silver sugar casters with fleur de lys and square pierced tops, tapered cylinder bodies with gadroon decoration measuring 16.5 x 6.8cm, gross weight 12.2ozs, hallmarked Birmingham 1984, maker Barker Ellis & Co.

An elegant pair of Elizabeth II silver casters. Casters came into widespread usage during the Georgian era, as sugar and pepper became readily available. These casters feature cylindrical bodies and decorated pierced tops for shaking out spices. This set would be a lovely addition to a dinner service.
