A George III silver caster, the pierced top later engraved in a naturalistic design with swirled finial, London, 1767, indistinct maker’s marks, weight 3ozs, measuring 14 x 5.5 cm.

A fine George III vase-style sugar caster. Sugar casters were widely used in the eighteenth century for sprinkling both sugar and pepper. A lovely historic piece for a dining table.
