An Anglo-Indian yellow gold demi-parure of a fine cone-work finish, consisting of a brooch and pair of drop earrings, the circular shaped brooch, with a central dome surrounded by seventeen semi-spheres and bead decoration, each of the earrings consisting of a gold ball suspended by an oval domed top, to shepherd-hook fittings, all in yellow gold, circa 1890, the brooch measuring approximately 3.4cm in diameter, the earring measuring approximately 3.3×1.3cm, gross weight 23.12 grams.
A wonderfully bold late nineteenth century brooch and earrings set. This set features a pair of earrings comprised of two gold balls, and a brooch of one larger gold ball surrounded by a boarder of further spheres. Each of the balls is decorated throughout with tiny and fine gold cone-work decorations. This set shows the influence Indian design began to have on English design during the British Raj.
