Managing Director
Mark Evans, Managing Director of Bentley & Skinner, joined Bentley & Co, the family-run firm of Bond Street jewellers, in 1973 at the age of seventeen. He became a Fellow of the Gemmological Association in 1976 and Managing Director of Bentley & Co in 1985. In 1998 he acquired Skinner & Co and was granted the Royal Warrant of Appointment as Director of Bentley & Skinner, Jewellers and Silversmiths to H.M. Queen Elizabeth II and H.R.H. the Prince of Wales. He is a connoisseur of antique jewellery with a specialist knowledge of Fabergé and gemstones.
Consultant
Omar Vaja had been a Sales professional with the company since 1993. He has a passion for antique jewellery with a special interest in the Belle Époque era.
Manager
Ilias Kapsalis BSc, MBA, GG has been a Sales professional with the company since 2013. He oversees the online web-enquiries and social media of the company. He has a passion for antique jewellery with a special interest in Victorian era and natural pearls.
Senior Sales Advisor
Reg Penfold FGA, has been involved in the jewellery profession since 1972. He joined Bentley & Skinner in 2014. His particular interests are jewellery from the Art Deco period and antique silverware.
Co-Director and Company Secretary
Alexander Adamov BSc, BBA, DGA, PJ Dip is the Company Secretary and the Financial Administrator of Bentley & Skinner. Joined the company in 2011 upon completion undergraduate degrees at the University of Chester and Caucasus Business School, Caucasus University. Alexander speaks English, Georgian, Russian and Armenian.
Appraiser, Gemmologist & Stock Keeper
Lola Rafieva PhD, FGA, DGA has been in the antique jewellery business since 2014. A scientist by training, she has strong analytical skills and a good eye for details.
Senior Sales Advisor
Gregory Music has been involved in all levels of the jewellery industry since 1975, starting his career in one of London’s premier jewellers, G Music & Sons Ltd. With his in-depth knowledge, formed through manufacturing, sourcing and retail sales, he has attained a passion for all things ‘jewellery’.
Cataloguer and Assistant Valuer
Matea Milanović GIA GG, AJP, joined the company in 2022. Before this, she worked for Christies auction house whilst completing her studies at GIA London. A gemmologist by training, she has a passion for coloured stones and diamonds, with a special interest in works of Fabergé.
Sales Administrator
Bosco joined the company in 2023 having graduated from the Spanish Gemmology Institute as a gemmologist, diamond grader, appraiser, and pearl identifier. He studied as a goldsmithing for four years. He oversees the sale of Bentley & Skinner’s signet rings. Bosco has special interest in antique jewellery, particularly Victorian and Art Nouveau.
Jewellery Sales and General Assistant
Jessie joined the company in 2023 following an internship at Olympia Auctions. She read History of Art at The University of Bristol and pursued her love of jewellery after graduating. She is currently studying part-time at Gem-A and has a particular interest in Art Nouveau jewellery.
Goldsmith
Karen Avakov has been with Bentley & Skinner since 2010. Originally from Georgia, he started learning the craft from his grandfather and father when he was in his teens. Karen is a goldsmith and a diamond mounter. He has passion for design and manufacture of bespoke precious jewellery. He has great experience in remodeling, alteration and restoration of Victorian and Edwardian era fine jewels and reworking antique or vintage jewellery.
Apprentice Goldsmith
Cody is an apprentice goldsmith and diamond mounter enrolled in the Goldsmiths’ Centre Apprenticeship Scheme. At Bentley & Skinner, he trains in bespoke, fully handmade jewellery, along with antique fine jewellery repairs and alterations to the highest standards. He previously attended the University of Central St Martins in London. Cody has a particular interest in the Belle Epoque, the Byzantine era, Micro-Mosaic, and Memento jewellery.
