Lucie Heskett-Brem creates intricate handwoven, sculptural jewellery and chains from gold and fine gold alloys. Drawing inspiration from the likes of snakeskin and spider’s webs, her geometric designs are mesmerising, and her jewellery is tactile.
Lucie Heskett-Brem was born in Lucerne, Switzerland, to a family of artists. She completed training as a goldsmith in 1992 and has been creating elaborate handwoven designs ever since. Heskett-Brem’s lifelong fascination with the symbolism of chains has led her to become an expert in handcrafting them in different styles and sizes. Her skill lies in weaving chains from fine gold alloys that she creates herself. Her pieces are unique and have a sculptural quality. Her craftsmanship and passion for intricate chains has led to her nickname, ‘The Goldweaver of Lucerne’.
Each piece created by Heskett-Brem has a magical quality to it: her craftsmanship is unique and rare. Her works are in the permanent collections of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum and the Museum of Art and Design, both in New York City.
