A Victorian Ruby, Diamond And Pearl Bangle
A Victorian pearl, ruby and diamond bangle, consisted of three rows, the central one set with ten old brilliant-cut diamonds graduating from the centre, alternating-set with nine oval faceted rubies, the two outer rows set with nineteen seed pearls each, terminating to pearl-set foliate design shoulders, the back with three connected gold bands, to a snap clasp, the diamonds estimated to weigh 1 carat, the rubies estimated to weigh 0.75 carats, all mounted in yellow gold, unmarked, tested as 14 carat, circa 1890, the jewelled part measuring approximately 5.9 x 1cm, gross weight 22.8 grams.
A charming and eye-catching Victorian bangle. This gorgeous piece features a typically late Victorian half-hoop design, with a row of alternating glittering rubies and lively diamonds flanked above and below with a row of lustrous seed pearls. The stones are all set to bright yellow gold, which complements the stones and pearls wonderfully. The bangle style of this bracelet makes it comfortable and perfect for either everyday wear or styling with a more formal outfit.
