A polychrome enamel scarab dress-set by Phillips, consisting of a pair of cufflinks, each with two oval concave faces decorated with a different colour-enamelled scarab, a white, a red, a green and a blue one, connected by gold figure-of-eight fittings, accompanied by four scarab-shaped waistcoat buttons, two red, one green and one blue colour enamel, all mounted in yellow gold in original fitted case, circa 1863-1870, bearing later French import 18ct gold marks, each oval link measuring approximately 2 x 1.6cm, gross weight 8.1 grams.
