A Victorian coral and diamond yellow gold swag necklace, the necklace comprising twelve circular plaques, each set with a cluster of seven coral beads, each set with an applied diamond to the centre, all to a yellow gold backing with fine rope design border, each suspending an elongated pear shaped coral drop, all dropping from a yellow gold swag chain and barrel clasp, circa 1860, measuring approximately 37 x 3cm, gross weigh 42.8 grams, in original fitted case.
A gorgeous gold and coral necklace. This mid-nineteenth century piece features a gold chain from which is suspended equally spaced coral decorated plaques, between which are set gold chain swags. The plaques are circular and each feature coral beads surrounding a diamond and a coral drop. The pale shade of the coral provides a warm complement to the yellow gold. This magnificent necklace captures the ornate style of the High Victorian period and would look beautiful paired with a strapless gown.
