A late Victorian sapphire and diamond ring, the oval faceted sapphire weighing 1.71 carats and accompanied by Gem & Pearl laboratory report stating to be natural with no indication of heating, set with one old European-cut diamond on each side, each estimated to weigh approximately 1 carat and assessed to be of G-H colour and VS2-SI1 clarity, set with four small old-cut diamonds in-between, all to a gold mount with carved scrolled decorations, marked 18ct and bearing makers mark W.B, circa 1890, measuring 2.1 x 0.8cm, finger size Q ½ , gross weight 5.8 grams.

A charming and romantic late Victorian sapphire and diamond ring. At its heart is an unheated deep blue sapphire set with two dazzling old-cut diamonds at its side and four smaller ones in between. The gold mount is finely crafted with carved scroll decorations that accompany the deep hues of blue with the sparkle of the diamonds and merges them into an intricate and refined symphony of romance and elegance.
