More informationA Victorian hardstone cameo brooch with diamond, ruby and pearl, the circular hardstone cameo depicting a female face in the Roman style, surrounded by three rows of old-cut diamonds, oval faceted rubies and pearls with daylight in between, all set in a gold mount with brooch fitting, measuring approximately 36mm in diameter, circa 1880, gross weight 10.2 grams.
An enchanting Victorian cameo brooch. This piece features a central hardstone cameo of a female face in profile surrounded by a frame of glittering old-cut diamonds. The diamond frame is surrounded by a further frame of vibrant rubies with have a lovely fuchsia hue. Surrounding the rubies is a halo of lustrous white pearls. The pearls complement the white-hued cameo carving, and the rubies provide a beautiful complement to the central pink hardstone. A lovely piece.
