A Burdock Flower Ring By Ilgiz F
A pink opal, enamel and diamond ring in the form of a burdock flower by Ilgiz F, the round cabochon-cut pink opal surrounded by six fine feu-enamelled burdocks of openwork design, to a pave diamond-set back, all mounted in 18ct white gold made by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, measuring approximately 3cm in diameter, finger size N, gross weight 27.3 grams.
An exceptional ring by Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, a widely recognized master in the art of jewellery and particularly enamelwork. This ring features six enamelled burdocks which surround a glowing cabochon-cut pink opal. The burdock is a common plant in the southern Russian region where Ilgiz F. is from, and many of his works of jewellery incorporate the plant and its flowers. The enamel work is exquisite and detailed, and underneath the burdock leaves and opal is a back of pave-diamonds that catch the light beautifully. This piece demonstrates Ilgiz F’s magnificent skill with enamel work and is a gorgeous example of his craftsmanship and style. Ilgiz Fazulzyanov has twice been awarded the grand prize at the International Jewellery Design Excellence Awards, and his work is held in the collection of world-renowned museums including the Kremlin Museum in Moscow.
