A Georgian natural pearl necklace with blue enamel centre, the kite shape centre piece with blue enamel decoration, mounted with ivory carving of the trophy of love, a cupid’s bow and arrows, a hymeneal torch (named after Hymen, the Greek goddess of marriage), forming a diagonal composition suspended by a ribbon and ivy leaves that represent eternity, all under glass, surrounded by a fine old-cut diamond border suspending a pearl drop, all suspended by a diamond-set ribbon bow within cut-down silver setting to a gold mount, strung with five rows of pearls, accompanied by GCS Report 80273-89 stating to be natural of saltwater origin, with four gold spacer bars and a half-pearl-set yellow gold clasp, circa 1790, the necklace measuring approximately 36.6 x2.6 cm, gross weight 36.2 grams.
