A vintage diamond cross-over ring, the old-cut diamonds weighing 0.38 carats and 0.35 carats, assessed to be of H-I colour and VS clarity, claw-set in platinum collets to yellow gold shank,circa 1950, later hallmarked 18ct gold, London, measuring 2.1 x 0.5cm, finger size O½, gross weight 3.1 grams.
This attractive vintage ring features two old-cut diamonds. The yellow gold shank of the ring appears almost fluid, as if mid-movement, delicately coiling around the diamonds positioned either side of each other. Following on from the war, there was a deep-rooted desire to return to luxury, and many jewellery styles at the time were influenced by the popularised feminine and curvaceous silhouette. This ring reflects this wonderfully.
