A Roman carnelian intaglio and gold ring, the oval shaped carnelian measuring 16 x 8mm engraved with a female portrait surmounting an imperial eagle with a laurel wreath on its beak, horizontally set to yellow gold mount with tapering shank, Eastern Mediterranean, circa 2nd-3rd century AD, measuring 2.6 x 1cm, finger size M, gross weight 7.1 grams.
