A fine silver and gold egg pendant by Fabergé. Fabergé was established in St Petersburg in 1842, and by the late nineteenth century, was Russia’s largest and most well-known jewellery house. Today Faberge is most famous for his jewelled Easter eggs which had a particular significance symbolising the re-birth of spring after the long Russian winters. The house has become known for their royal commissions and their close ties to the family of Tsar Nicholas II. This piece is signed by Anders Nevalainen, who first working in the jewelry atelier of August Holmström, before becoming head of workshop under exclusive contract with Fabergé.
