Description

A mid 19ct century pearl and ruby heart locket, the heart-shaped pendant pave-set with half pearls and embellished with cushion shaped faceted rubies in-between estimated to weigh 1¼ carats in total, all mounted in gold with gold hinged back and a glass locket compartment, all to a pearl-set scroll surmount and pearl-set pendant loop, bearing French import mark for 18ct gold, suspended from a Brazilian-style snake chain accented with six pearls and terminating to a finely engraved barrel-shaped clasp, circa 1860, measuring 5.6 x 4cm, the chain measuring 40cm long, gross weight 39.5 grams.

A lovely and precious mid 19ct century pearl and ruby heart locket. The pendant is adorned with exquisite half pearls and cushion-shaped rubies, delicately set in gold with a hinged back and a glass locket compartment. It hangs from a snake-style chain, adorned with six pearls, and culminates in a finely engraved barrel-shaped clasp. Dating back to circa 1860, this pendant would make a very thoughtful and loving gift.
