A fine pair of Fabergé enamel and diamond cufflinks, each cufflink comprising two marquise-shaped plaques, to the centre oyster guilloche enamel within a rose-cut diamond border, the points topped with a single Old-European cut diamond, weighing approximately 0.16 carats in total, all grain-set in silver and backed in yellow gold, with chain-link connections, with the Faberge work-master August Hollming maker’s mark, additionally scratched with the inventory number: 65535, circa 1901-02, previously in Robert Strauss collection, gross weight 11.2 grams

This stunning pair of cufflinks was made by Fabergé. Fabergé was established in St Petersburg in 1842, and by the late nineteenth century, was Russia’s largest and best-known jewellery house. The house has become known for their royal commissions and their close ties to the family of Tsar Nicholas II. These cufflinks feature marquise-shaped plaques, each set with glowing white enamel and a rose-cut diamond set frame. The heads are attached with a gold chain link. The cufflinks are signed by Fabergé workmaster August Holming who was known for his fine enamel work. These cufflinks are a wonderful example of late nineteenth century Fabergé craftsmanship.
