This stunning pair of cufflinks was made by Fabergé. Fabergé was established in St Petersburg in 1842, and by the late nineteenth century, was Russia’s largest and best-known jewellery house. The house has become known for their royal commissions and their close ties to the family of Tsar Nicholas II. These cufflinks feature marquise-shaped plaques, each set with glowing white enamel and a rose-cut diamond set frame. The heads are attached with a gold chain link. The cufflinks are signed by Fabergé workmaster August Holming who was known for his fine enamel work. These cufflinks are a wonderful example of late nineteenth century Fabergé craftsmanship.
