A Georgian Regard Ring
A Georgian regard ring, set with ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby and diamond spelling REGARD, all in a closed back setting, with open-work shoulders to a decorated ribbed shank all in yellow gold, circa 1830, the head measuring 0.5x2cm, finger size L, gross weight 2.2 grams.
A lovely antique ring. This piece is a perfect example of a characterful acrostic ring, with the first letter of each gemstone spelling out ‘REGARD’, a popular term of endearment in the nineteenth century. The yellow gold shank perfectly complements the richly coloured stones, making this sentimental piece a true treasure.
The finger size of most of our rings can be adjusted and our workshop will be happy to do this free of charge. If you do not know your finger size please request us to post you a finger measure.
