A pair of late Georgian gold drop earrings, the button-shaped top bearing a stylised filigree flower, suspending a drop with engine-turn engraved background applied with filigree flowers in a spiral design, all in 18 carat gold with hook fittings, circa 1830, measuring approximately 72x 13mm, gross weight 10.5 grams.
A wonderful pair of archaeological revival earrings. These earrings feature a rosette-detailed upper from which is suspended a spiral gold drop at the base of which is a further rosette flower detail. The flowers are made using filigree work, and the spiral features further exquisite filigree detail. These earrings capture the interest during the mid-nineteenth century in jewellery of the ancient world, Ancient Etruscan jewellery. This pair of earrings would look superb with a black dress.
