A Victorian yellow gold serpent ring, the ring in the form of a coiled snake, the eyes set with two round faceted emeralds, all made in yellow gold testing as 18ct, bearing French import mark circa 1890, width 1.25 to 1.98cm, finger size J½, gross weight 11.6 grams.
A fine and sculptural ring. Created in the tradition of Victorian serpent rings, this piece would make an ideal and eye-catching pinkie ring. The tail and head of the serpent are elegantly shaped, and four coils of the serpent’s body give this piece a wonderful size. The two glinting and bright emeralds are a charming detail of this piece.
