More informationA Victorian diamond and natural pearl pendant/brooch, the round natural pearl measuring approximately 7.6mm in diameter centrally-set to a diamond-set heart with a natural pearl drop with diamond-set cup, all to a diamond-set surmount consisting of a shell set with a smaller pearl, between two diamond-set clusters, with detachable diamond-set loop, the pearls accompanied by GCS report stating to be natural of saltwater origin, the diamonds estimated to weigh 4.5 carats, all mounted in silver to yellow gold back, with detachable gold brooch fitting, circa 1890, measuring approximately 6.3 x 3.2cm, gross weight 17.3 grams.
An exquisite late nineteenth century pendant. This piece features a heart shaped central plaque set throughout with a dazzling array of old-cut diamonds. At the centre of the heart is a lovely natural pearl, and surrounding the heart are floral and foliate decorations set with further diamonds. The pendant culminates in a wonderful glowing pearl drop. The combination of pearls and diamonds is elegant, and the plethora of details featured on this piece make it a stunning example of Victorian style.
