More informationA Belle Epoque natural pearl, ruby and diamond brooch/pendant, the drop-shaped pearl estimated to weigh approximately 14 carats, accompanied by SSEF report stating to be natural of freshwater origin, with a fluted design rose-cut diamond-set cap, suspended within a diamond-set wreath accented with calibre-cut ruby-set ribbons, with a diamond-set bow surmount centrally-set with a round ruby, the diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 1 carat in total, all millegrain-set in platinum and yellow gold, with detachable brooch and pendant fittings, circa 1905, measuring 4 x 2.4cm, gross weight 14.8 grams.
An exquisite Belle Epoque brooch and pendant. This piece features a beautiful pear-shaped frame of diamonds set with crossed rubies. Atop the frame is a glittering diamond-set bow, in the centre of which is set a vibrant round ruby. In the centre of the frame hands a beautiful natural freshwater pearl with excellent nacre, suspended from a diamond-set cap. This elegant piece exemplifies the taste for feminine and romantic jewellery in the early twentieth century. This piece can be worn as a brooch or as a pendant, hung off a velvet ribbon or a chain.
