This locket is in excellent condition. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold.
A wonderful mid-nineteenth century locket. Horseshoes have long been associated with good luck, and this locket features three interlocked lucky horseshoes. One horseshoe is set with deep and vibrant rubies, one with lush and bright emeralds, and the other with lively diamonds. This sweet locket opens, and currently holds a photograph of a lady from the period in which this piece was created. This special locket would look stunning on either a thick period appropriate Victorian guard chain, or on a thinner chain as a modern statement piece.
