A Victorian diamond star brooch, the central old brilliant-cut diamond estimated to weigh 0.65 carats surrounded by twelve rays each set with a line of graduating old-cut diamonds with the smallest to the end, estimated to weigh a further total of 3.1 carats set in a silver to a gold mount with detachable brooch fitting and rattail to the top, gross weight 8.9 grams, circa 1870, illustrated in “Jewelry For Gentlemen” by James Sherwood, page 1.
