A wonderfully expressive and detailed brooch. Created in the mid-Victorian era, this brooch exemplifies the Victorian craze for Ancient Egypt. In 1867, many Egyptian artifacts was displayed at the Exposition Universalle in Paris, igniting a popularity for Egyptian motifs. This brooch features a fabulously detailed enamel head in profile, wearing a colourful and bright Egyptian style robe. The lovely head is surrounded by a boarder of lively rose cut diamonds. This fine brooch would be stunning worn on a jacket lapel or silk scarf.
