A spectacular Fabergé frame. Fabergé was established in St Petersburg in 1842, and by the late nineteenth century, was Russia’s largest and best-known jewellery house. The house has become known for their royal commissions and their close ties to the family of Tsar Nicholas II. This exceptional frame was made in the late nineteenth century and is signed by Fabergé workmaster Michael Perchin, who oversaw the production of many of the firm’s most spectacular Imperial eggs. This frame features a wonderful lilac hued enamel surrounding an oval aperture which is framed with yellow gold neoclassical style decorations. The exterior of the frame is edged with ornate carved yellow gold and topped with a delicate and masterfully created gold bow. This important frame is a superb example of Fabergé style and craftsmanship.
