A magnificent nephrite and crystal stamp dampener by Fabergé, made by workmaster Feodor Afanassiev in St Petersburg. Fabergé was established in St Petersburg in 1842, and by the late nineteenth century, was Russia’s largest and best-known jewellery house. This beautiful stamp dampener perfectly exemplifies Fabergé’s craftsmanship and the exceptional ability to transform everyday objects into striking works of art. It is meticulously carved from a single piece of striking green nephrite, also known as Siberian jade, which was used extensively in Fabergé’s work. The dampener is further decorated with rose and green gold garlands, ornate bows, laurel leaves, twinkling diamonds and lively rubies – working together to create an eye-catching object d’art. A delightful piece with regal allure.
