A Victorian Emerald, Diamond And Crystal Pendant
A Victorian emerald, diamond and crystal pendant, a lozenge shaped rock crystal, centrally applied with a square-cut emerald set between four old brilliant-cut diamonds, within an emerald-set cross to an alternate emerald and old brilliant-cut diamond border, suspended from an emerald and diamond detachable pendant loop, the diamonds estimated to weigh 0.5 carat, the emeralds estimated to weigh 1 carat in total, all set to a gold mount with a removable crystal back, circa 1880, measuring approximately 3.7 x 2.4cm, gross weight 9.34 grams.
A remarkable pendant. A large central rock crystal forms the body of this pendant. The crystal is encrusted with diamonds and rich, verdant emeralds. Delicate and detailed, this stunning pendant is a fine example of late Victorian craftsmanship. The pendant would look stunning on a Victorian chain, riviere necklace, or even on a velvet ribbon for a period appropriate look.
