An Edwardian Diamond And Ruby Horseshoe Brooch

An Edwardian diamond and ruby horseshoe brooch, alternately set with groups of three calibre-cut rubies, and groups of three old European cut diamonds, the rubies estimated to weigh 1.70 carats in total, the old-cut diamonds estimated to weigh 0.40 carats in total, the diamonds set in silver, all to a 14ct yellow gold mount with a brooch fitting, circa 1910, measuring approximately 2.5×3 cm, gross weight 5.55 grams.

A wonderful and sparkling horseshoe brooch. This brooch features alternating rows of vivid calibre-cut rubies and glittering old-cut diamonds set in a yellow gold frame in the shape of a horseshoe. The horseshoe is traditionally thought of as a lucky symbol, and this piece makes a wonderful lucky charm perfect for pinning to the lapel of a jacket or a silk scarf.
