An exquisite pill box made by Fabergé. Fabergé was established in St Petersburg in 1842, and by the late nineteenth century, was Russia’s largest and best-known jewellery house. The house has become known for their royal commissions and their close ties to the family of Tsar Nicholas II. It features a wonderful malachite green guilloche enamel pattern on the lid and body of the box, which is accentuated by detailed and fine gold details on the rim and base. The gold is decorated with a laurel motif, adding further detail to this fine piece. This piece is signed by workmaster Henrik Wigstrom whose supervision was responsible for the production of many of the Imperial easter eggs. It is an excellent example of Fabergé style and craftsmanship from the early twentieth century and is a true treasure.
