More informationAn Edwardian peridot and pearl necklace, to the centre an oval faceted peridot measuring 10x7mm millegrain-set to yellow gold collet, surrounded by gold openwork scroll-design frame embellished with small half pearls, and suspending a pear-shaped faceted peridot measuring 11.5 x 7mm, on each side connected with a peridot and pearl drop link, terminating to a figure-of-eight gold link set with half-pearls, mounted in 15ct gold, all suspended by a gold trace chain with bolt ring clasp, circa 1910, measuring 42.5 x 5.6cm, gross weight 16.7 grams, accompanied by origianl case.
A charming Peridot and Pearl necklace. This lovely necklace features lush green peridots and sweet half-pearls in an openwork lacy pattern know as ‘Garland style’. The warmth of yellow gold mount complements the colour of bright peridots perfectly, creating a soft and tasteful look. The central garland motif of this necklace is intricate, yet light and delicate, a beautiful example of the most prominent feature of the early 20th century jewellery. This antique necklace can still be worn today, day or evening.
